FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Look at the outside of your home to make sure the first
message you give to potential buyers is that of a well
maintained, cared for property. Sweep the pathways, trim the
hedges, mow the lawn. Invite people in through a well
presented, paint-chip free door.
TIDYING UP
Create the feeling of space by clearing away, boxing up,
throwing out. After all, you'll have to do that when you move
house anyway.
RIGHT TEMPERATURE!
During the summer open the windows and let in the fresh air.
In the winter keep the temperature warm and cosy.
SMELL SWEET
Tempt the senses with discreet aromas. Influence perception by
adding delicate fragrances in each area. Clean and vibrant for
the bathroom, using air fresheners. Warm and homely for the
kitchen using fresh coffee or fresh baking. Subtle and light
for the bedroom using pot pourri.
SOUND GOOD
Music has been successfully used in many selling environments
so consider playing soft music. Turn the television off or, at
least, down.
REPAIR
Check the doorbell and exterior light work to welcome your
visitors. Look out for chipped paint and dripping taps. Secure
any loose doormats or carpets. Attend to those little repairs
that you always intended to finish
